We’re getting closer and closer to having the selections for our new house completed.  I can’t wait to be done already!

I already shared with you guys the kitchen selections.  Today we’re talking about the master bath.

These are the images I keep going to for inspiration.

And, here are our picks!

Floors – 12×24 marble planks in a brick pattern

Shower surround – The shower will be doorless with white subway tile

Shower floors – Matte hexagon marble

Cabinets – Black, but in a shaker style

Counters – Carrera marble

Wants and budget hardly ever get along, but I think it’s going to be pretty great in the end.  I was hoping for a stand alone tub.  Ca-razy expensive to get one from them.  Didn’t do it.  I was also hoping to add some interest to the subway tile shower by adding in some pencil tile surrounding the shower fixtures and the chair rail looking tile around the perimeter.  Wanna guess how much those extra pieces of tile were going to cost us? Over $2,000!!!!!!!  For tile I could pick up for a couple hundred at the home improvement store!  Grrrrrr……  I just can’t make myself spend that.  Can’t do ‘er!  I still think it will look lovely with the plain tile though.

My husband is horrified at this thought, but there’s a part of me that wants to show up at the job site with tile and yummy treats in tow hoping I can sweet talk some pencil tile into being placed around the shower fixture.  I know, I know… they probably won’t do it and I’ll be told to pound sand.  But I want to know, is it something you’d try?  Tell me I’m not alone 😀

I love your choices! Uhmmm, yes, I'd do that in a heartbeat. I have been known have a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to sweet talking contractors/laborers into getting what I want. Bringing baked goods can only increase your chances. I say go for it and let me know how it turns out!

We're also in the process of building, and once one of the walls went up, I decided I wanted windows in it after all. My husband was not so excited. It's been hot around here, so all I did was show up with some cold Gatorades for the framers, and asked nicely, and they did the windows for me! My husband said I should have brought beer instead – he worked in construction years ago and said they love that kind of stuff, so it definitely doesn't hurt to ask! Go for it!!!!

Love your picks!! You're making me second-guess everything I chose! 🙂 totally show up there with some beer or donuts and the tile! I thought about doing the exact same thing a time or two. Worth a shot!

Worse case they say no and you are back where you started. Do it. I bet they would eat. it. up. I want that same tile in my bath minus the pencil tile…because they are pretty small. I can't wait to see it!

We have small hex tile in our shower floor and large hex in the rest of the bathroom on the floor. We also have pencil tiles around the fixtures and shower niches so you aren't alone;). Gorgeous pictures. I'd take any one of those.

Holy $#@!, that is going to be so effing amazing. Like, so amazing that all I want to do is cuss! I'm completely jealous. And yes, I would TOTALLY show up with treats and tile. Totally. No matter what they say, you'll regret it if you don't. 🙂
