Mike has been wanting to take Izzy fishing for quite some time now. He even bought her her very own pink princess fishing pole complete with glitter and flashing lights. Because everyone knows it’s not fishing without glitter and flashing lights! It was something she has been asking to do non-stop since he bought her the pole. When you would ask her what she wanted to catch you’d get this response, “A fish with pink lipstick… or an old boot.”
So, a few weekends ago we headed out to my FIL’s farm to finally go fishing.
After only a few casts, she got bored and decided to hang out with Papa Moo-Moo on the banks.
Which then turned into harassing Papa’s passing cows.
After many, MANY attempts to bring in a fish with the princess fishing pole we finally had success! I was shocked she didn’t freak when she saw the fish dangling from the hook. The first thing she said was, “I want to eat it!!!” Um… yuck, and no.
Now, from the photo above you may be thinking it was my husband that caught that fish. You would be wrong.
Here’s the real story:
When they started talking about packing it in for the day I decided I wasn’t going to let my little girl go home from her first fishing trip having NOT caught a stinking fish.
I grabbed that glitter blinking pole and after a couple of casts brought in the fish you see in the photo above. Yes, it’s not a big fish. But, dad-gum-it it’s a fish none the less! Of course, the pictures don’t show that story because Mommy is the only one that knows how to use the flipping camera. But, it was me that saved the day caught the fish.
And THAT’s no fish story.

I'm never in pics either! Moms always save the day – we have super powers! =)
Haha! I love it! You go, girl!!
Hilarious. Nice work Mom! 🙂
Em LOVES to fish. Loves, loves, loves it. Talks about it constantly. She'll FINALLY get to go fishing next weekend again.
She is SUCH a stink'n cutie! Goodness gracious. And congrats on the fish…sometimes the ladies just have to take care of business.
As my daughter likes to say, "Anything boys can do, girls can do better!" I think you proved that.
So cute! And love that you caught it! =)
Love this. Just now catching up on Izzy adventures. Those little fish are a real B^&*(# to filet. Just ask Bill. He fileted Jeremy's after his first trip. It was dinner for 1.
