accordion table and nursery progress

September 21, 2012

My metal accordion table has arrived!

You know, I’m glad the DIY table was a fail because I’m quite smitten with this one.

It snuggles in perfectly right next to the glider.  I’m a happy camper!

So… the nursery has taken a turn from it’s original plan.  SHOCKER.  I’m such a flip flopper when it comes to this room, and I’m still not sold on the new direction.  We have a boat load of Afghan rugs that my husband brought home from the Middle East, so I figured I might as well give one of them a home in here.  We shall see if it stays 😉

I also just finished the crib skirt.  It’s a pinstriped linen that reminds me of a men’s suit.  Here’s a little peek for you.

Hopefully I can get crackin’ on the rest of the bedding next week and do a little somethin’ somethin’ with those plain white curtain panels.  I’m starting to hit that exhausted phase where all I want to do in my spare time is sleep.  Not good news for a nursery that is FAR from finished.

Here’s a little random nugget for you.  I’ve got House Hunters on in the background.  Do you ever just want to reach through the tv and smack some of those people???

“There’s too many stairs!  I’m not giving up wearing my heels, it’s too much work to climb up and down stairs wearing heels all the time.”

And how many times do we have to hear this jewel, “Well, the closet will work for MY clothes, but I don’t know what you’re going to do with yours.”

Where do they find these people?

Ok, I’m done with my little rant.

I love any post that involves a nursery. Love the bedskirt and the rug! We're going to put our new arrival in a bassinet thingy that we used for my other daughter at first so I still have a little bit of time to work on my nursery/ daughter's room. It's all very exhausting though! Hang in there.

Yep, the table was TOTALLY worth it. So fun. Can't wait to see the rest of the room.

I love the people on those shows who complain about the wall colors. Really? Have you never heard of a paintbrush?!?!

That table looks perfect there! I'm digging the rug and the pinstripe crib skirt. Can't wait to see the whole thing come together. That show is so staged. I wonder if they have to say that stuff?

Oh I love the direction you're heading with it. Very global, warm, and cozy. I know what you mean… house hunters drives me crazy! Especially all the international ones.. I feel like they give Americans everywhere a bad rep with all their demands! 🙂

ha ha! house hunter peeps drive me batty, too- oh no way this will never work- i don't like this color.
it's called paint, people. and it's pretty cheap- use it.

anyhow love where the nursery is headed!

I cannot wait to see the finished product. I absolutely love the table and the lamp…and the rug is ahhhmazing. Perfect for this little mister's room. Ugh, I miss sewing.

    Three things:
1} I cannot wait to see the whole room
2} If you've got all these rugs on your hands…SPREAD THE WEALTH!
3} My fav HH line is : "These paint colors are awful!" ……. I just slap my forehead and roll my eyes. PEOPLE!
