I got a question from a very important reader, my mom, about my post, How to Fix a Boring Builder Grade Bath. One of the updates I mentioned was to take down your towel bar and replace it with hooks. She had the guest bath towel bar down within minutes!
Here was the question she had. There are a ton of hooks out there, what hooks should she use? I came up with some options and sent them over. I wanted to share my suggestions and a few more in case you find yourself looking for some good bathroom hooks. We have No. 6 in our master just outside the shower, it’s huge. I think the bunny hook would be great in a kid’s bath.
She had another question. My mom also removed the towel bar over her master tub, and as I did, she’s wanting to replace it with art and use a stool next to the tub to hold the towel and other items. The question was, what type of stool should she be looking for?
I love the look of a stool next to the tub. It adds another layer to the bathroom and makes it much more interesting. I also pull ours up to the vanity so I can sit while putting on my makeup. You can find a ton of photos with this look in bathrooms with stand alone tubs.
You definitely need to consider your bathroom size when looking for a stool. I love the look of a wooden stool in a mostly white bathroom. The contrast is so pretty and really warms it up. If you already have a lot going in your bathroom, maybe a white glazed garden stool would blend a little better. Here are some I’ve rounded up, including the small side table (No. 1) that I use in my bathroom.
And to finish off the rest of your space, here are some accessories that would look great in any bathroom. Water scenes are right at home in a bathroom. For those of us who have black thumbs, here are some pretty faux plant options. And, you can never go wrong with beautiful towels!
We’re finally getting some cooler temps in the evenings and early morning and I couldn’t be more grateful. With the weather starting to cooperate and the fact that we’re well into October, I thought I would share my fall bedding essentials. I don’t get all crazy with winter bedding, but a few changes can make…
The new sofa finally arrived!!! I’ve been so eager to share it with you guys. Our last sofa was a super trooper, lasting us 12 plus years. I loved that the slipcover was washable, and how well the frame and cushions held up over time. When it was time for a new sofa, I wanted…
I wanted to share with you guys a photo sent to me by Betsy in Illinois. She recently finished her sunburst mirror using my tutorial. Isn’t it gorgeous!!! The center mirror was a $15 find from Wal-Mart. She used the bronze metal and patina glaze from Valspar, and I’m just so…
Earlier this year it felt like Summer Break would never get here. Now that we’re in the thick of it we are soaking up every single minute of out back and in the new pool. We’re still waiting on our outdoor patio furniture to arrive, but until then I’ve added a few outdoor patio accessories…
Immediately after putting up the new drapes in our living room I went to the computer and ordered more for our kitchen. You will not believe how different things look now that we have drapes in our kitchen nook! If you’ve been on the fence about whether or not to add them to a room…
