I got a question from a very important reader, my mom, about my post, How to Fix a Boring Builder Grade Bath. One of the updates I mentioned was to take down your towel bar and replace it with hooks. She had the guest bath towel bar down within minutes!
Here was the question she had. There are a ton of hooks out there, what hooks should she use? I came up with some options and sent them over. I wanted to share my suggestions and a few more in case you find yourself looking for some good bathroom hooks. We have No. 6 in our master just outside the shower, it’s huge. I think the bunny hook would be great in a kid’s bath.
She had another question. My mom also removed the towel bar over her master tub, and as I did, she’s wanting to replace it with art and use a stool next to the tub to hold the towel and other items. The question was, what type of stool should she be looking for?
I love the look of a stool next to the tub. It adds another layer to the bathroom and makes it much more interesting. I also pull ours up to the vanity so I can sit while putting on my makeup. You can find a ton of photos with this look in bathrooms with stand alone tubs.
You definitely need to consider your bathroom size when looking for a stool. I love the look of a wooden stool in a mostly white bathroom. The contrast is so pretty and really warms it up. If you already have a lot going in your bathroom, maybe a white glazed garden stool would blend a little better. Here are some I’ve rounded up, including the small side table (No. 1) that I use in my bathroom.
And to finish off the rest of your space, here are some accessories that would look great in any bathroom. Water scenes are right at home in a bathroom. For those of us who have black thumbs, here are some pretty faux plant options. And, you can never go wrong with beautiful towels!
Now that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open to the public (those of us non card holders), I thought I’d pull together my picks from the sale. You can check out some other great finds from my other post (not all sale items, but awesome prices none the less). I was excited to see that…
In my latest post on Sam’s big boy room you got to see his finished antique Jenny Lind bed I found off Craigslist. I am beyond thrilled with how it turned out! This is how the bed looked when we got it off Craigslist. Completely worn out. Looked like it may have been in…
– UPDATED – It has been soooo long since this first post went up and I thought it would be fun to include some updated photos of this mirror and show you how it has been used over the years. Still using it and loving it! Where ol’ girl currently lives in our Houston house….
There are houses going up at a crazy pace all around us in our neighborhood. They’ve just opened up a new section and I’ve been eyeing the new model homes when I drive past taking Izzy to school. We had our cabinet guy over finishing up our kitchen last week and he told me I…
Last week Izzy asked me why we haven’t put out Halloween decorations yet. I told her it was because it’s still 90 degrees outside and Mommy has a hard time getting in the fall decorating mood when she’s still sweating. She wasn’t having that. So, I drug out some decor but kept it on the…
Well, I need a weekend do over. First off, thank you to those that responded to my prayer request I put out Sunday on Instagram and my personal FB for Sam. Late Saturday he started running a low temp and had a lot of coughing. Sunday morning I made him an appointment at the after…
