We came back from our Thanksgiving trip up to see family in Kansas refreshed and ready to make it through these last quick weeks before Christmas. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. The kids played outside at my parent’s house everyday and enjoyed the perfect weather. Man I miss all the leaves that cover the ground up there. My parents have all of these big pine trees around their house. It’s so beautiful and I love finding pinecones scattered around the ground. The simple combination of pines and pinecones were the inspiration for my Christmas porch decor this year.

Front Door Garland

The garland surrounding the front door is a mashup of three different items I have had for years; a cheap green garland, a nicer garland with a mix of greens and pinecones, and a swag. I used the cheap garland as my base, it’s secured in place with nails in the wood above the stonework and wire is strung from the nails down to the garland. The swag was added along the top of the door, and then the nicer garland was layered in over the sides. By using the cheap garland as a base it helps make the nicer stuff look fuller.

For lights, I used the larger bulbs you usually see used on houses because that’s what I had. But, I love the look! Kind of looks like little glass ornaments hanging in the garland.

Fresh Wreath + Brass Bells

I happened across this fresh mixed green wreath at Lowes for $16 yesterday. It was the perfect compliment to my garland, the size was great, and you can’t beat the price. If it doesn’t last me through to Christmas due to the warmer temperatures we get down here, I would certainly go back and get another at that price.

These bells are one of my favorite pieces of Christmas decor. It looks like those particular ones won’t make it to you before Christmas; however, as of me writing this post, you can still get these bells (which I have in our living room and used on last year’s wreath) in by next week.

Lanterns + Rugs

When I saw these large gold lanterns I knew they would be beautiful on the porch for Christmas. Of course, they would also be great year round. You can find the medium size online here, and the large size like I have in the stores. Not sure why they don’t show those online. The candles I picked up from Hobby Lobby and are on timers so I don’t have to worry about turning them on every night.

I’m still using the same rug combo from this Spring and Summer. My DIY doormat is a little dirty, but still going strong, and the indoor/outdoor stripe rug is the perfect companion. Love those neutral stripes! It still looks as good as it did the day it arrived.

Window Wreaths

I kept everything else on our front porch very simple. The only addition to the other side were the two wreaths I added to the windows. All of our windows that face the street have wreaths on them, these are the smallest of the windows so they have the smallest wreaths. They have a little grouping of bells hanging from them that I picked up at Tuesday Mornings. I’ve had the green ribbon for six years now, but I’m pretty sure I found it at Michaels. The green ribbon ties in really well with the plants.

Potted Plants

The Yucca plant in the white pot is a constant on our porch. Earlier this Fall I added the grasses and some mums to the terra-cotta pots. The mums didn’t make it because, well, mums. I replaced with the mums with this potted Rosemary shaped like a Christmas tree. It fits in quite nicely.

I think this years’ Christmas porch decor might be my favorite porch yet. I’m so happy with how the garland turned out and am thrilled I was able to rework what I already had. Love it when things work out like that.

Beautiful front entry. That find at Lowes with the wreath is perfect. I’m going to check them out today. I was debating the ones at the Christmas tree farm when waiting for Santa but too expensive. A trip to Lowes and Hobby Lobby.😊🌲
