Time for this week’s Color My World Challenge!
This week’s challenge (and a challenge it most definitely was) was to incorporate pink through paint. I can tell you right now, you are not going to see my dining room walls pink 😀
I decided I wanted to give it a go at painting a, well… painting.
Good grief what a stress inducing task this was!!! Not the stress reliever I dreamt it to be… NOT EVEN CLOSE. Is this the “painting” I imagined in my mind? Nope. But that’s fine. If inspiration strikes I’ll give it another go, and if I strike it rich then I’ll just buy some real art 😀
I planned on just leaning it against the wall without a frame, but when I brought it in here the color was just way off (as is ALWAYS the case with this room). The pink needed some separation from the green walls.
So I pulled out an old framed poster from my very first place. Believe it or not it was the PERFECT fit! But, it was black, and the painting looked really sad framed in black.
So, I sprayed it white and added silver to the corners. Adding to the corners was a little something I fell in love with when I saw Courtney do it in her home.
Having pink in here makes me want to paint the walls a different color in a bad way. I’m thinking gray. To the To-Do list it goes!
Ok, so next week I’ll be adding pink fabric. It was actually the first thing I did when I started this challenge so I’ve had to toss it out of the way when taking progress pics 😉
And don’t forget that if you want to join in we’re having a link party at the end of this on May 1st!

NewestYOU GO GIRL! I'm so proud of you for conquering your fears of art! It looks amazing. I actually love the color combo myself!
That looks awesome!! Good job.
i LOVE the touch of pink and i think you did an awesome job! just let yourself go! 🙂
Good for you, trying your hand at painting! I've been starring at a huge canvas for about 2 months now…I've even gone to the store and had paint in my cart, only to put it back and run home with my tail tucked. So, Bravo!
I love it! I am so impressed that you made this yourself & love how you framed it! I actually like how it looks with your green walls!
I really like how your painting turned out and I love what you did with the frame. I'm constantly changing my mind about color (probably because I like so many colors), so if you want to paint your walls gray, go for it!
I love the pop of pink in this space! And the silver corners – I too loved that on Courtney's blog and need to do it – it adds so much to your frame! What color are your walls? They look similar to my bedroom – Clarksville Gray, which takes on a greenish tone in certain lights.
I love it! It so bright and cheerful. The silver corners are a stroke of brilliance!
I absolutely *love* the painting, girl! ESPECIALLY with that rockin' frame, it's so perfect! I've been itching to DIY a frame after seeing Courtney's project, too…it's just such a cool touch to any frame!
This is such a fun challenge you ladies do. The pink looks great. Also very good idea not painting your dining room walls pink! lol
i LOVE how your painting turned out! i think it looks great propped up on the piano! and i think i might now be in love with painted framed corners! definitely will be trying that soon… it makes such a great statement to a simple frame!
I think your painting is awesome! I wish I had done something along those lines last week instead of my multi-colored mess! Ha! Great job!
You did a great job! I love the painting…I might have to copy it for one of the girls rooms! 🙂
Your pink painting is amazing! It totally gives a new character to the wall!

Beautiful painting, I love it! The frame looks great too with the corners. I am loving my gray walls, go for it, it is so wonderful!
What a great blog you have here! Totally following! 😉
The painting is perfect! I think you should give it a try again and not think so much about it! love the frame!
Ummm…I think that painting is completely perfect! And it looks wonderful…truly. I've been thinking about using some pink around the house, too, but I'm still a little afraid…;)
Love the pop of pink Shelley! I think it would look great with gray walls…just another project to add to the list. I have that frame pinned too. The silver corners make it!
Love it. The piano turned out great too. I painted our sunroom gray and it's the first time…in 13 years, that I have loved the color. In my next house, gray will be the staple.
