DIY paper fringe

July 9, 2015

Before I get going, I want to say a big thank you to TODAY for featuring my DIY cage light ceiling fan yesterday!  You can check it out here.  Purdy excited about it!!!

*************************

Ok, so I’m working on putting together a little summer party for Izzy and her friends.  I’ve decided it needs some paper fringe to up the cute factor.  Fringe makes everything better 🙂  I made them out of crepe paper streamers since they’re so stinking cheap and you can get them in all sorts of fun colors.  They were simple to toss together so I wanted to share.

MATERIALS:

  • crepe paper streamers
  • scissors

STEP ONE:  Layer 6 lengths of streamer paper.  I made mine about 10 inches long.

STEP TWO:  Cut off the folded edges.

STEP THREE:  Fold the layers in half.

STEP FOUR:  Cut strips of fringe 3/4th the way up.

STEP FIVE:  Fold in half long ways.

STEP SIX:  Twist the folded top so it stays in place.

When I finished making a batch up I found myself wandering around the house with it and ended up in Izzy’s room.  See what I mean about fringe making everything better?!  Of course she now wants them to stay.  I just might need to make her some for her room now.
