We all have parts of our home that slightly bug us. For me, it was our entry. I was trying to make it work with the furniture I had, and while I liked it, I was never completely in love. When reached out to see if I would be interested in checking out some pieces from their new line just launched on Memorial Day, our entry immediately came to mind. So, come on in! I have been so eager to share with this entry makeover with you!

Bench
Our previous entry bench functioned fine for the past several years, but I had been looking to replace it with one that had cleaner lines and more length to better fit the entry wall. The was a perfect solution. This bench can be customized several different ways. We went with the 60″ in the Weathered Truss finish on both the seat and legs, and chose the standard edge for the seat (there is also a beautiful live edge option).
The wood on this bench is so beautiful. It’s made of solid maple from the Appalachian Region of the U.S. that has been hand-planed and built in Virginia. It’s a classic piece that will no doubt stand the test of time.
Pillows
When I think of a furniture store I think of large furnishings, not pillows. Or if there were pillows, I didn’t expect them to be ones that I would be interested in. I was wrong! The selection of pillows Bassett offered surprised me. The and pillows immediately caught my eye. The fabric is a beautiful quality and the texture and patterns tie in perfectly with our existing entry rug. I can see these being used all over the house.
Credenza
Definitely the biggest change in our entry is the area below the staircase. The was the first furniture piece I selected and everything else was chosen to compliment it. The credenza is longer, thinner, and shorter than our buffet that was previously here, but the dimensions fit this space so much better! My favorite thing about the Mirage is how it combines the look of old and new. The metal black legs and contemporary door panels are balanced by the distressed finishing. It’s such a pretty piece and the quality is incredible.
The credenza is made of oak and has a ton of storage space inside. This is where I store candles, candle holders, and home accessories not currently in use. The shelves inside are adjustable, and it even has holes for wire management should it be used in a living room for media equipment or in an office for electrical components.
Mirror
What a difference the right sized mirror makes in here! Our previous mirror was just too small, but I was trying to make it work. My daughter made me realize just how small the old one was when she walked by the new mirror and said, “Wow! I can actually see myself in it now!” The fills the wall perfectly and the metal finish ties in nicely with the metal legs on the credenza. This is one of those mirrors that can work anywhere with any style. It packs a lot of punch for a great price.
Lamps
These chunky wood are even better in person. They are the most solid lamps I have ever owned. I like the slight mid-century feel with the shape of the base and touch of brass at the neck. The ribbed texture on the base is my favorite part.
Accent Table
This is a really fun piece. Obviously you can use it as an accent table next to a chair, but I like how it fills in this dead space next to the console. It’s perfect for giving this plant some height and interest. Can you also see this modern accent table used as a stool in the bathroom or in a closet? I think it would be perfect for that!
Before + After
I hope you enjoyed our Bassett Furniture entry makeover! Our entry has a much brighter, open, and well thought out look now. It feels so great to walk past and love my entry. Thank you Bassett!

NewestWow…what a difference this furniture makes. The credenza it a much better size and color for the entry. And that mirror in metal, I love it. The thing I like the most is that the furniture pieces are real wood. And the bench nade here in the US is even better. It’s difficult at best to find wood furniture anymore or pieces made here. This quality will create heirlooms. Just a more sophisticated look. I’m loving this entry. Ahhhhhh!💞
You are so right about the solid wood!! I wish you could have seen these pieces in person, they are sooo beautiful! The entry has finally come together.

Your sectional is so beautiful, Cassie!! I am hard I’m love with their furniture pieces.
It’s incredible how just a few furniture pieces made such a great difference in your entryway. It looks much bigger, more open and airy now. The bench adds and accent table add a vintage vibe, while other pieces look modern and, in the end, everything is perfectly combined together. Love what you did here, thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for your comment, Katarina! I really does feel so much more open now!! I just love it!
Looks great! What is your wall color?
Thanks, Kristen! The walls and ceiling throughout the house are PPG Gray Palomino.
Love the new credenza Shelley!! So different and the scale is perfect in your foyer. Also the bigger mirror looks fantastic there!!
I cannot believe the difference that larger mirror makes! Everything is a much better scale now. Thank you, Lisa!
Love your floors! Can you please tell me what brand, color and if they are laminate or engineered hardwood? We will be replacing our existing floors shortly and we’re looking for waterproof and scratch resistant against dogs nails, etc. Thanks!
Thank you! They are engineered hardwood: Hill Country Innovations, Napa Valley Collection in Syrah.
The credenza and side table are so gorgeous! Cute rug and plant too, love this space Shelley! Xo, Caitlin
Thank you so much, Caitlin! That rug was one that my husband purchased overseas before we were married. I’m so happy to have it!
