Today I am beyond thrilled to have joined some incredibly talented women to bring you our Beauty in Simplicity Fall Home Tours!!

Seasonal decor doesn’t have to be over the top to give you all the feels.  Little touches here and there can make a big impact too.  If you are popping over from Rachel’s incredibly beautiful tour at Rachel Elizabeth Blog, welcome, I am so happy to have you!  This is the first in eight years of blogging that I have actually done a tour for fall.  I had such a great time adding in some simple touches throughout that it will definitely not be my last.

Welcome to our home!

We live in Texas just outside of Houston where temps are still hanging out in the 90’s.  Hot humid weather can definitely put a damper on your fall decorating mood.  Since it still feels like we’re in the middle of summer, I decided to decorate with some of the lighter fall colors.  It’s a perfect way to ease yourself into fall.

The star of the porch is without a doubt this stunning live wreath I received from Club Botanic.  I went with their San Fransisco Estate Wreath made out of magnolia, cedar, and thistle.  You guys, it is no lie the most beautiful wreath I have ever seen!!  I spent way to long just staring at it, ha!  It is perfect for my late summer/early fall porch, but it would still look right at home on your holiday porch.  The mix of materials make it such a multitasking wreath!  This was my first time ordering a live wreath online and I had some concerns over how it would fair during shipment.  All of those concerns were put to rest.  It arrived quickly and I was so pleased to find the wreath was safely connected to the box to prevent any shifting or crushing.  As soon as I opened the box all of those smells you get from fresh greenery hit me and I got so excited for the holidays.  This has now ruined me for all other wreaths.  Now only fresh will do!  Go check out their fresh wreaths as well as their dry wreaths.  They are all jaw droppers.

As soon as you enter, there’s a bench and hooks for guest to drop their belongings.  We have a hardworking mudroom in the garage that eats up all of our kids’ backpacks and shoes so this smaller version at the front entrance works well for visitors.

Dining Room

On past the entry is our dining room.  Truth be told, we don’t eat our everyday meals in here so I didn’t do a full-up table setting, but I still wanted the room to feel like fall.  I added some pumpkins down the center of the table and mixed in some of my thrifted brass candlesticks.  I’m convinced you can never have too many brass candlesticks.  Black candles give it more of the moody vibe that I like this time of the year.

Here’s a faux greenery and flower tip for ya:  Fill clear vases with water and everyone will think they’re real!

I picked up these faux branches from Hobby Lobby and I love how they work for early fall.  The bright green leaves are a reminder of summer while the little berries hint to fall.

Every year I splurge (splurge was a little over $40) on fancy pumpkins from the grocery store.  I’ll mix them in with some faux white ones I’ve had for years.  The ones you see here are actually the pumpkins from the front porch.  They’ll hang out on our stairway until it gets cooler out.  I just can’t stand the thought of them sitting under the hot Texas sun, baking and then rotting before Halloween gets here.  If I keep them indoors during the hot temps I can put them back out before Halloween and they last me all the way through Thanksgiving.  I certainly don’t mind how cute they look here.

Living Room

When I started decorating for this tour I realized I don’t have an official fall decoration box that I pull out.  I stressed about it for a minute and then realized you don’t really need it.  For me, my decor ended up being about adding in the what that season feels like.  Warm woods, layers, textures, greenery, candles, and of course pumpkins are what comes to mind.  Pretty much everything stayed the same in the living room except for switching up the decor on the coffee table, mantle, and adding a sheepskin to the back of a chair.

I absolutely love when people decorate their kitchen’s with fall touches.  I struggle just keeping the darn thing clean on a daily basis, so any added decor would just get lost in the piles of mail and items the kids bring home from school.  I did add some pretty artichokes to the fruit bowl next to the cutting boards.  Not that you can even see them  😀

Our eat in nook received a simple vase with seeded eucalyptus.  I’m telling you, all you really have to do to decorate for fall is add in some eucalyptus and pumpkin here and there.  Boom, done!  And although you can’t tell in the photos, the plums in the bowl are the prettiest shades of burgundy and deep purple, and look gorgeous next to the bright green apples.
