Our living room gallery wall around the tv has been bugging me lately. I have been moving away from the bright white look in our home to one that feels warmer. This doesn’t involve big drastic changes, but small ones that can make a difference in how the entire room feels. With the help of my go-to framing source, Custom Picture Frames, I swapped out the white frames and mostly white art for darker textured frames and warmer art. I’m so happy with how this gallery wall refresh turned out! I’ll link to all the art and which frames I used at the end. And, I also have a coupon code for you!

Gallery Wall Before

Do you see the three white framed pieces of art? Those are the ones that are changing. The piece on the bottom right is getting new art that will reach to the edge of the frame, but the frame is staying. Now, I do still love the art that I’m replacing. The black and white watercolors are very special to me since they were painted by my aunt who is no longer with us. I will be using those in another area of our home.
The New Pieces

Look at those beauties!! As I usually do with gallery walls, I wanted a mix of different frame styles. I always choose to work with Custom Picture Frames when doing gallery walls because I’m not restricted on frame or mat sizes. Whatever art you want framed, you are able to create a frame and or mat around that art to suit your wants. Some pieces I chose to add mats to to break things up just a little bit. Loving the double mat on the smaller sketchings. Makes them feel extra special.
Custom Picture Frames Also Prints Art
The small sketches were pieces I had just picked up from our trip to Italy so I had those on hand. The other two pieces of art are printable downloads I purchased from Etsy. The great thing about Custom Picture Frames is that you can order just frames, OR you can send them your downloadable art files and they will print your art for you. That way when you get your frames the art is already professionally installed and they are ready to hang!

Gallery Wall After

Our living room has conflicting focal points due to our fireplace being angled in the corner. We did try to have the builder center the fireplace in the middle of the wall, but they wouldn’t allow it. When I look at the before photo with the lighter art I feel like I’m not sure where my eye should land. Fireplace or tv, fireplace or tv? In the after with the darker frames and art my eye has a place to rest on the art. And the tv has blended in with the art more now. And if you have a good eye you’ll notice I didn’t hang the second sketch with the gold frame. I couldn’t make it work in this layout, but it found a home on our bedroom dresser.
Now, I know what you’re thinking. I should just get a Frame TV. The truth is it really doesn’t bother me that much. And our tv works perfectly fine for us right now so I don’t see a reason to swap it out.
