It’s been a while since I talked about our garage mudroom.  Almost 4 months actually.  Sheesh!  We ended up having lockers built in when we had some other work done on our house.  You can check out the progress and my inspiration pics here.  TIP: If your having someone else build your lockers (or any other built-ins), save yourself major money by painting them yourself.

We started with an empty wall that leads inside.  Our family uses this as our main entry.  I always imagined this as the perfect spot for built in lockers.  A spot where the kids can drop all their stuff off so it doesn’t end up on the floors and kitchen counters, and when running out of the house, they can grab it and go.

And, here she is!!!  My organization heart still skips a beat when I see her!

Everyone has their own spot.  The metal baskets above hold beach towels, pool toys, skates, and other toys.  I love that it’s still accessible, but not in your face.
The cabinet in on the side offers even more out of sight storage.  It was mainly built to conceal our Berkey water filter (seriously the best tasting water that will ever cross your lips, no lie).  And, the trash can next to the door holds our dog’s food.

Sunscreen and bug spray are stored up top.
The water filter was placed on a notched shelf so you can easily pour water without having to pull the heavy filter out.  Love that!
And the kids can easily get to their sidewalk chalk and bubbles at the bottom.
We’ve utilized this space multiple times a day.  If you’re toying with the idea of putting in a mudroom wall (small or large, inside or out) just DO IT.  And add lots of hooks.  You can never have to many hooks 😉

    1. Thank Lynda! It's a Berkey water filter. They come is a bunch of difference sizes, ours is one of the larger ones. It's seriously the best tasting water EVER. I like that you just fill it up with your tap water, that way you don't have to go anywhere for replacements or refills.

    1. It's 7.5 feet height, just over 9 feet wide, bench is 20 inches deep, and lockers are 12.5 inches deep.
