Izzy has had a couple of little changes to her room over the last couple of weeks. You may have seen the new vintage rug we added in this post. Couldn’t love it more! We then added a really fun chair to the space. Izzy has mentioned on quite a few occasions that she loves hanging chairs and wanted one in her bedroom. Now that she is a full blown teenager and spending a lot more time in her bedroom, I was on board with giving her a fun spot to relax.

Previously in this spot was an antique white desk. You can check out how that looked in this post. While the desk was a great piece, as you know, you can’t keep everything. So away it went and in went this fun white, rattan hanging chair. It works so well in her bedroom! Right now I have left the art that was over the desk exactly where it was. Not sure if I’ll end up relocating it above her bed or not. Nah, as I type this I think I’ll keep it there.
If you recall Sam’s bedroom, he also has a hanging chair. They truly are the best seats in the house! I think they add so much whimsy to a bedroom.
How to Hang a Chair
Initially this seems like it’s going to be a much more difficult project than it is. But it’s really simple! You want to make sure you’re using hardware that is up to the task and can handle weight. I used this heavy duty hanging kit minus the rotating piece because my rope was too thick to go through it. You simply locate your ceiling joist with a stud finder and install into the joist. I knotted my rope twice (Izzy’s chair came with the rope) and wrapped the leftover rope around the knots, tucking the ends into place. You can see the installation process in this Instagram reel I created.

Hi Lin, I have manually unsubscribed you.
I love how her room looks. That chair is perfection with that artwork and paper. Can I just move in?
Of course you can!
