Master Bedroom Two Ways

You hear it all the time, a rug can completely change the feel of a room. It’s true. I recently added a new rug to our master that was a complete style change from what was in there before and loved the fresh new look. Then the following week, I swapped the new rug out for a different rug for the purpose of creating content for one of my favorite rug companies. Initially the plan was to go back to the other rug after I was done shooting it, but I ended up really loving that look too!! So, I thought I would share the master bedroom two ways and you can tell me which you like best!
Previous Rug

The rug I had in our room previously is such a great bedroom rug. You can find it here. I don’t know how they do it, but the pile feels like faux fur. They call it CloudPile and it’s the softest rug you will ever walk on. EVER. It’s important to note that I didn’t get rid of it because I no longer liked it, but because my job is to try out and share different products in my home. I regularly work with rug companies so those are the items that often get switched around in my home. Highly recommend my previous rug.
Version 1

Ok, so this rug was outside my normal rug style and I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it once it was ordered. But, IT’S SO GOOD. I swapped out the rust colored pillow for a softer neutral, the charcoal blanket for a tassel throw, and I do have new window shades in a lighter color (more on those later). But it feels like a totally different room!

Rug Details

This is from the latest rug drop from Amber Lewis and Loloi, I have the Monty in Pebble/Beige in a 7’10″x10′. Our bed is a queen (a little wider than standard due to the thick sides) and the rug is a great size for it.
I love the texture this rug has with the different pile heights and how the background color bleeds in and out.
We love it, right? Now here’s Version 2.
Version 2

Do you now see why I love this version too? It’s so plush and luxurious feeling! I kept the same pillows from the first version but switched the throw to this Moroccan pompom blanket. The wool pom pom tassels and the wool rug are a match made in Heaven. I also added this vintage stool to the foot of the bed that I just picked up from Round Top.
Rug Details

This is, believe it or not, a washable rug. It’s the Catlett from Revival. I have it in a 9’x12′. While this size is too large to toss in a washing machine, smaller sizes can. And it’s wool! Since it is a washable rug, spot cleaning is an absolute breeze. I shot video for Revival cleaning it after our dog Archer left a gross brown stain on it from his greasy cow bone. So nasty. But it cleaned quickly and easily using just warm water, my all-natural Thieves dish soap, and a sponge.
It feels so good to walk on and I love the thick pile. The shorter pile stripes around the edges is the prettiest touch.

Do you see my dilemma now? Let me know which version of our bedroom you prefer. Version 1 or 2?
