Nativity Scene Makeover

December 22, 2017

I have always wanted to find a mid sized nativity scene to place in our home for Christmas.  During Thanksgiving I picked up this nativity that my mother-in-law had packed away for years which was perfect for a nativity scene makeover.  It was the perfect size, but the colors felt out of place in our home.  There is nothing a little paint can’t fix!  I pulled out some white chalk paint I had laying around, and one coat later it went from this…

…to this!  The nativity scene now perfectly ties in with our home, and I am head over heels in love with the more simplified look.

Tip:

Add in some Spanish and preserved moss (both found at my local craft store) to extend the floor of the manger and to soften the transition.

Do you have a set in need of a nativity scene makeover?  You still have time to bust this project out!
