There is a small list of updates I am working on completing for our master bedroom. I’ve always been of the opinion that you don’t need to swap out every single item out all at once to enjoy a change. Little changes here and there can still make a big impact. One of those changes I wanted to make was switching out our rug for one with a little more interest. I have seen Loloi rugs all over the place and after purchasing one of their runners for our kitchen I became a huge fan. You just cannot beat the price and quality of their rugs. I knew I wanted to use one of their rugs in our master and so today I am excited to share with you our new bedroom rug from Loloi!
I was provided with the product used in this post, but was not otherwise compensated. All thoughts and opinions are my own. For additional information, you can find my disclosure here.
Rug Details
This rug is from the Loloi Millennium Collection in Grey/Stone. It is predominantly grey and stone with bits of black and blue. I love that there is more detail in this rug from our previous and that the small amounts of black pull the other black accents in the room together perfectly. You can also see that it gives the appearance of a worn, vintage rug with some areas appearing more distressed. I absolutely love this look in a rug!
Rug Direction and Color
Something else I noticed about this rug is how the color changes depending on the direction you lay the rug. It’s sort of like having two rugs in one. This is difficult to capture on camera, but I have the rug laying so that when you enter the room you see more of the darker and warmer tones of the rug. When standing at a different angle the rug appears lighter and cooler in tone.
Just look at that pretty pattern!! I couldn’t be more thrilled with it!
Yes, you can do a rug over carpet
I recall years ago thinking that I couldn’t do a rug in our master because we had carpeting. My belief was that you had to have a solid surface for a rug to make sense. Boy oh boy am I glad I have let go of that thinking! No matter your flooring material, there is no better way to add interest, texture, and color to a room than by adding a rug. If you have been shying away from a rug for the same reasons I used to, I urge you to give it a shot. You will be so happy you did!
So, what do you think of the new bedroom rug from Loloi? I just can’t get over how pretty the pattern and color is. And, I want to know, are you Team Rug on Carpet or Team Rug on Wood/Tile Only?
