Seeing as how this little man is almost here, I figured it was time to call it quits on the nursery and get some photos snapped. You know how it goes when putting together a space – there’s always so much more you want to do, but you never end up getting around to it. So, this space is as done as it’s going to get!
I ended up changing my mind from my first plan. Shocker. Pregnant woman changes her mind… again 😉 I wanted it to have more of a masculine feel to it. The rug my husband brought back from the Middle East was the perfect jumping off point.
I wanted the bedding to resemble menswear. A crisp white shirt, gray pinstripes, and monogram. Funny story about the monogram. My machine and I battled over getting this monogram to work (broken thread, slips, broken needles, and cursing). As soon as I pulled it off the machine I thought to myself, “Where have I seen this before??” Hotel Sheridan. Hahahaha!!! Oh well, I really like it so who cares!
The glider isn’t the most beautiful, but since this is our last child, I didn’t want to purchase any new furniture pieces. I made a white slipcover to cover the old fabric and called it good.
The dresser is also left over from Izzy’s nursery. It was an antique store purchase that was painted white. I liked that it’s not a dedicated changing table and can easily be transitioned for a big boy room or in other spaces.
The gallery wall was a simple toss together using random frames I had laying around the house. You can read more about the mounted animal art here. Man, I always intended to better position those frames. Oh well.
This little brass fox hook is one of few things left over from my original plan for the room. I just adore him. Perfect spot for grabbing last minute items on your way out.
Ruffino LOVES this room. Any time I leave the door open I find him in here sunning himself. He’s going to be so mad at me when we bring another baby home. He has been a little mopey lately, I think he knows.

I Love it! You did a fabulous job. I totally want that animal art…so fricken cute!!!!
That rug is amazing! I love all of the special details you but together. A wonderful nursery!!
I love his room and that it doesn't feel baby-ish. I'm all about baby and kids rooms that will grow with your children. And it's funny, I'm currently working on a new bedroom for my son, Elliott. He's almost 12 and his room has a similar feel to your nursery! We're using warm grey and red and we have a turkish kilim for the floor.
You did a fabulous job!
Looks great!!! But I expected nothing less!!
Awwww, it's going to be so awesome to bring your little man home. The room is great, as always. Did you even cover the boppy to match? :o)
I love that your dog matches the decor in your whole house. hahahaha
Girl, you did it! The room looks great! Love the rug, and the Sheridan logo 😉

Love the simplicity of the colors you chose. The accents and details really bring the room together and give it a very finished look! Beautifully done!
It's the perfect crisp, clean little boy nursery!
Very cute, Shelley! I love those drapes and your wall decor is great.

I can say that I really LUV everything about this room. Thanks for sharing it at my party. I will feature it at my party next Monday. Feel free to come by and grab my starfish feature button for your blog.

The nursery looks AMAZING!!! Yay! Love the gallery wall and the curtains. So many great details here! 🙂
It looks great! I love that rug!
And ok.. Have you shared the baby's name?? I assume it starts with an S but I spotted a G in one picture of the gallery wall! 🙂
Nicely done! Don't feel bad. I didn't even get started until my little one was born. I think all we had done was painting and refinishing the floors. Still a work in progress at 8 months now. But done for the most part.
Oh my gosh, HOW DID I MISS THIS?!?! I'm so mad at myself for not being first to see this loveliness! I guess you could say I'm a little competitive…or a lot *blush* (c; But it was worth the wait because it's SO ADORABLE!!! And that rug!!! I'm contemplating sending the hubby overseas so he can find me an amazeballs rug like that…too much?!? And that animal art *slays* me! SO stinkin' cute…must copy immediately!
