You’ve done it! You’ve made it to the finial house tour! If you’re just joining, I’m sharing how my style (or lack of) has changed over the years and with each house. You can catch up by clicking on our first house, second house, third house, andfourth house.
Our Fifth House – Houston, TX 2014
This is our current home which we built. It wasn’t a completely custom build, so we have slowly been tweaking things and adding our own touches to it over the past couple of years. Knowing that we were going to be changing things, we had this house built with a number of builder grade items (cabinets, lighting, bathroom fixtures, etc.) and only upgraded things during the build that made a big impact (hardwood floors, tile, counter tops, adding in hardwired light boxes, etc.).
Since this is our current home there are a lot more photos, and I’ve included links to full room tours and information about items used in each room.
PAINT: Entire house is painted PPG Palomino Gray. For additional paint info, visit this post.
Even in two years these rooms have all changed since we first moved in. No matter what, it always takes time to figure things out. And, that’s kind of the fun part anyways. It’s nice that nothing ever has to be DONE.
I think it’s interesting to see how a lot of the same furniture has been used over the past eleven years. We are definitely not the type to start fresh with out furnishings when we move. But, maybe that’s just because we have moved so often. A few new pieces have been purchased like the chairs in the living room, coffee table, dining table, and bed in the master. The older pieces get reworked if they’re not falling apart. Things like making skirts to cover our old nightstandand dining room buffet, painting our dining room chairs and restaining our kitchen table have been a huge cost savings, which makes me feel better about the new purchases we make.
This last photo may make your eyes bleed, but hey, no pain no gain!
Man oh man do I wish I could go back in time and change things 😉

It’s reveal time! But first, let’s take a quick trip down memory lane. Here is the main before photo of my dining room before I started tinkering around with it. And here we are right before the challenge with some changes already in place. Week 1 – inspiration photos {via Pinterest via Elephant Prettiness??} Week 2…
Last week I finally made up my mind about what hardware to go with in the new kitchen. I’ve flipped back one too many fingernails pulling open drawers without pulls or knobs in the house we’re in right now. I decided I needed to have hardware ready to install the day we close on the house. Here’s…
A few months ago I received an email about reviewing a rug from Sukhi. After hearing the incredible story behind their handmade felt ball rugs, I was beyond excited to see these rugs up close and in person. Recently, this beauty arrived at my doorstep. MY RUG: I chose the Deevyah Rectangle Rug (note: while…
We bit the bullet and finally decided to buy a new washer and dryer. Can’t tell you how excited I am to use our front loaders, and even more excited to get them out of my livingroom where they are currently camped out. I honestly have no idea why they had to hang out there,…
I hope everyone had a beautiful Christmas and that you are still enjoying the break! I’m using this time to slowly take Christmas decorations down, and have been perusing the internet checking out the after Christmas sales. There are some really good ones out there so I wanted to share them with you. This is…

i love this home so much- the consistent palette is perfectly you! and the bedrooms are all so beautiful! i am not sure which space is my favorite!
Thank you, Cassie! This home definitely feels the most like me, but that's probably just because it's where I finally figured out what "me" was 😄
Absolutely Love it! Every room flows! Amazing talent and attention to every detail!! ❤️❤️❤️
You are so sweet, Jen! Thank you!!!
The use of black and white in this home, especially on the grand staircase, is absolutely stunning. You’ve done a great job of taking a prefab home and making it your own. Make sure to take even more photos so your little girl can remember what the home looked like when she first moved in as these will be precious to her someday.
