our new breakfast room chairs

I had mentioned in this post a couple of weeks ago that I was in search of new chairs for our breakfast room.  By the way, is it called a breakfast room or kitchen nook??  I never know the right terms for things!  Any who, here are the chairs we decided on.  I think they’re a great fit!
I purchased mine from Overstock, here.  I chose this particular style of chair for a few reasons: 1) They’re easy to keep clean (my number one requirement); 2) the metal tone breaks up all of the black we had going on in there; 3) they tie in with our kitchen counter stools; 4) my husband liked them and gave me the thumbs up for the purchase 😀
You know how it is!  As soon as the husband gives approval on home purchases you’re hitting the order button as fast as you can!!!
But seriously, we do love the new chairs and after a few rounds of messy fingers, I can tell you they are so much easier to keep clean compared to our last chairs.
Here’s a side-by-side for comparison.  Not drastic changes (different lighting and chairs), but I do much prefer the updates.
You can see how they tie in with the counter stools in the photo.
I’m still working on coming up with a solution for the wall with the floor mirror on it.  I’m thinking of DIYing something similar to these feather prints from One King’s Lane.

I fell in love with them when I saw them used in this space by House of Jade, which has me wishing I wouldn’t have gone so dark on our floors.  Dang it.  Always the last one to the dance!!!

I can’t decide if I want to try my hand at water coloring those puppies, or if I should enlarge a print…  I’ll keep ya posted.

Thanks! Another bonus (well, maybe not to everyone) is how lightweight they are. Sam can now pull his own chair out without struggling.

We have water coloring in our genes. You have to try it yourself first.

You probably stole the all good water coloring genes :/ Don't mind me, I'll just be over here with my stumpy legs printing off pictures of other people's water colors 😉

My Amazon cart is also filled with my hopes and dreams. My husband does the same thing. I logged in the other day and saw all of this fancy exercise equipment sitting in the cart 😀

The chairs look great and really add to the overall look of the room. Just wondering how your table finish is holding up and if you ever put the polycrylic top coat on it. I am going to redo my kitchen table and absolutely love the color of the liming wax.

Yes, I did put the polyacrylic on the top. I didn't bother with the pedestal or legs though and those too have held up well. The polyacrylic did amazing (until I decided to put washi tape across the top of it like a train track for a birthday party). I'll end up redoing the top the same way just so I can fix what the washi tape damaged.

I love this room! What color are your walls? They are the perfect neutral.
