party dresses

November 11, 2016

It has been a LONG time since I’ve needed a party dress.  My husband’s company doesn’t have Christmas parties.  Wah, wah, wah, wah, wahhhhh…  They need to get on that.  However, this year, my husband was recently given a pretty awesome award from our college, OSU, and I needed a dress for the event.  Enter stress out mode and panic.  I  hit up Nordstrom and actually found a lot of great options.  I’m sharing my picks in case you might be on the lookout for a dress for this time of year.

// one . two . three . four . five . six //

ONE // This was a top contender.  The seaming was super flattering as were the tops of the shoulders.  Its a very form fitting dress but forgiving at the same time if that makes sense.

TWO + FIVE // I’m really digging the two piece options lately.  This was fun and I love how you can get more looks out of it by wearing them separately.

THREE:  This was a great dress on.  Loved the sleeves and fuller skirt (that back of the sleeve has a pretty detail).  I may go back for this one since it would be a great dress for any time.  You can change the look by doing a different belt or sash.

FOUR // This was my pick!  Loved that it wasn’t a typical plain black dress and the lace detail is gorgeous in person.  The material is very forgiving and I love how the lace goes over the shoulders a little more.  This was also my husband’s favorite 🙂

SIX // For the love of God, somebody better get this dress!!!!  This was by far my favorite dress.  I love it so much!!!  It was super flattering and insanely gorgeous in person.  Sadly, it just wasn’t right for this particular event.  Borderline tears having to leave this one behind.  I was like the kid in the toy store where the kid is in hysterics trying to grasp said toy while being pulled away by mom.

I need more fancy events in my life.

    Ooooh fun fun fun post! I love the one you chose and also that tulle skirt…..adore it especially with strappy heels and a "smallish" top to balance out that fluff. Thank you for this list – I need a new holiday ensemble and am off to check these out!

    Oh gosh, so many pretty dresses! I'm dying to find a reason to wear a beautiful tulle skirt! And I've seen dress #6 elsewhere in the blogosphere and loved it then too!

      I'm still in mourning over leaving that one behind 🙁
