Up until just a couple of years ago we had been using the same alarm clock my husband had while he was in college. It was clunky and outdated, but it still worked so there was technically no need to replace it. Then the most wonderful thing happened. We had a power outage that fried the alarm clock. My husband and I both keep our cell phones in the kitchen to charge over night. So the alarm clock in our bedroom didn’t need any fancy bells or whistles. Two alarm settings, snooze, and you can adjust the brightness. Does the job and blends in with the other decor.

When the kids were younger they had toddler clocks with different colors for waking/sleeping and songs to put them to sleep.
