Nursery

Last week I gave you a peek at the curtains I was making for the nursery here.  And, I promised I’d show you them hanging this week.  Vellll…. I got them done and they are up!

I wanted something different, more masculine than the regular chevron print we see a lot of.  So when I made the stencil I went with a deeper slope and gave it some interest by adding little notches instead of a straight line.

From a distance it kinda looks ikat to me.  No???  You don’t see it???  Squint a little bit, I’ll wait….

You still don’t see it, and you think I’m crazy.  Well, I’m ok with that because no matter what I’m still in love with my new curtains 😉  I plan on showing you guys the process of making your own stencil and getting it onto fabric through a tutorial.  So check back for that soon!

Now, on to a completely unrelated room.  The kitchen.

My chalkboard tiles have sat empty ever since I took them down to repaint the kitchen along with the living room and dining room.  By the way, the lighting in this photo is completely messed up, so don’t base your decision on a paint color from this photo.

Anywho, even worse is that before I took them down a month or so ago they still had the Halloween poem I had up from last years’ party.  Oops.  I guess I could have just left it up!

But now it finally has writing on it again!  Yea!!!  It’s the little things like this that make me happy.

I went with something I found on Pinterest when digging through Julia’s Wise Words board.  The girl has some great ones pinned.

So that’s that!  I’ve got nothing else.  I can hear Izzy making her way down the stairs from her nap (I wrote this yesterday), and I’ve just realized I forgot to sit the frozen hamburger out to thaw for dinner.  Ugh….  Why can’t I ever be on it when it comes to dinner?!

Those curtains are amazing! I don't know how in the world you come up with these ideas… You are so talented that it doesn't matter if you get dinner on the table early or not. 🙂

Yeah, I might love those curtains. And the non-DIY table peekin' out.
Cute chalkboard squares. I wish I had more wall space in my kitchen.
Throw the meat in a bowl of cold water. I've got a pork roast sittin' on the counter in one right now, 'cause I forgot to pull it last night too. :o)
