We’ve all experienced the backorder of basically any and everything over the last year. It feels like everything is out of stock! I should have been long done with Sam’s bedroom refresh, but of course ran into shipping issues on some items. While I have basically just given up on those few things, I was able to quickly get in a couple of other purchases. One of my favorite stores, Serena & Lily, has a cool new feature on their site where you can filter your choices to what’s in stock and will ship in 1-2 or 2-4 weeks. The selection of in stock items is impressive and just what I needed to finish up a few things. I’ll show you the quick ship home decor items I picked up as well as a bedroom design board based on in stock items that will be at your doorstep in no time!

Storage Basket
Kids need storage. Mostly stuffed animal storage. Sam had a pile of his favorites in a corner of his bedroom. Some nights he would want our dog, Archer, to sleep in his room with him. This involved picking up alllll the stuffed animals and tossing them in his closet so that Archer wouldn’t destroy them in the middle of the night. I needed a storage basket that was large enough to contain all the stuffed animals, and tall enough that Archer wouldn’t be able to steal them out of it. Enter the Seagrass Basket.
This basket met all of my needs and looks so good doing it. Look at the handle detail. It ties in perfectly with the oval pulls on Sam’s dresser! And I’m pleased to say that Archer hasn’t gotten a hold of any more stuffed animals at night. Done and done! I’ll have Sam’s bedroom refresh shared with you guys soon now!

Accent Stool
Izzy’s bathroom has been going through some small changes as well. I recently made her a new shower curtain and brought in a different rug. This space really needed a little something extra to warm it up. I’ve always loved the dip-dyed stool and decided to try it out since it ships so quickly.
I went with the large size, which was here in no time, and ended up being the perfect accent piece. It tucks in right next to the tub and gives her some extra space for any additional shower products she wants to have on hand.

Just to give you an idea of how many items are in stock and ship quickly, I created an entire bedroom by using the Serena & Lily 1-2 and 2-4 week availability filter. You can have an entire bedroom makeover on your doorstep in no longer than one month! Makes me want to completely redo our master.
And I just saw that right now through October 4th they’re offering 20% off your entire order (few restrictions apply) with code NEWSEASON. On sale and on time. Who could ask for more!

So, no more waiting for backordered items! What’s the longest you have had to wait for an item to show up? I had some things take over 6 months to show up. Yikes! And I’m pretty sure the drapes I ordered for Sam’s room are just not ever showing up. That’s ok, technically didn’t need them anyway.
These prices are ridiculous. I surely can’t afford a basket for $188.
Hi Carol! Thank you so much for your comment, I understand your shock! I’ll tell you how I look at my splurges and saves. When I’m creating a room in our home I look at it as a whole and create a budget for what I am willing to spend on the project. My feelings have always been that if I make smart money saving purchases or DIY projects a large portion of the project, I can make that splurge purchase fit within my budget. My splurge for this room was the basket, but I know everyone’s splurge is going to look a little different. I hope this helps clarify some of that.
