Why Revival?

It can be a challenge to chose a rug for your home. Revival has an amazing feature available on their site that allows you to upload a photo of your room so you can visualize the rug in your own home. It is so cool!! I have done this with each rug I have purchased from them and can tell you the colors depicted are incredibly accurate. It makes shopping for a vintage rug fun and stress free!

The vintage one-of-a-kind wool rugs from Revival have all been hand picked from Turkey and India. These handmade beauties are 30-100 years old! Each one is cleaned and revived so when it arrives at your doorstep it is ready for it’s next chapter in your home. Having purchased vintage rugs elsewhere and being taken back by the condition and smell, I can tell you how important it is to receive a properly cleaned and cared for rug.

Vintage Rugs for the Entry

The great thing about vintage wool rugs is that they can go anywhere in your home! Truly a workhorse. Due to the nature of materials, weave, and natural wear, these rugs can withstand high traffic areas and still look beautiful. I just placed this incredible runner down in our entry and am completely smitten with the character it added to the space. There is a rug I added to my Capsule Collection that is incredibly similar to this one so snag it before it disappears!

The colors and variation throughout these rugs make them a true work of art. I can find something new about it each time I study it.

Vintage Rugs for the Kitchen

Yes, you absolutely can put a vintage rug in the kitchen! And since vintage rugs come in so many different sizes there is absolutely a rug for any sized kitchen. This runner was the first vintage rug I purchased from Revival and is the one that got me hooked. I added a bunch of similar neutral runners to my Capsule Collection so you can get the same look.

You just cannot beat the charm a vintage rug adds to a kitchen. These rooms are filled with hard, cold surfaces. You really will benefit from the softness of a rug in here. Since the vintage rugs from Revival are wool, they are naturally stain resistant. And I can tell you from experience that pizza sauce, red water flavoring, and everything else that has been spilled on this rug have cleaned up like new! I have never regretted my decision to put down a vintage rug in our kitchen.

Vintage Rugs for the Bedroom

When I gave Izzy’s bedroom a makeover a couple of years ago, I had been on the lookout for a black and white vintage Kilim but never found the right one. When I recently spotted this one at Revival I immediately picked it up! I love the graphic pattern in her room and how it adds a cool casual vibe that keeps her room from being too sweet.

I added another Kilim similar to this one to my Capsule Collection!

Other Spaces to add Vintage Rugs

You’ll see one of my rugs in several different locations. I love moving it around because it honestly works everywhere! That’s the great thing about smaller vintage rugs, you can always find several places for them in your home. Secondary entries like our the door to our back patio is a great spot to add a small vintage rug. Because of their durability they can handle any dirt or moisture that might be brought in. You guys, wool is such an awesome fiber!

Another space to consider is your laundry room. Never hurts to have some softness underfoot. You’ll notice how the same rug looks totally different on a darker and lighter floor.

Rug Pads for Vintage Rugs

Most vintage rugs have already lasted a lifetime, but you still need to care for them. The best way to do this is by using a quality rug pad. This will keep the fibers from pulling causing unnecessary wear. I use this rug pad that has a padded felt side and a latex rubber anti-slip side. It works for all floors. For wood, tile, or other solid surface floors you place the rubber side toward the floor. For carpeted floors you flip it and place the felt side toward the floor.
