“Ruff” Housing

This was the last thing Izzy saw before impact. 80 lbs. of dog coming right at her like a linebacker as she plays contently with her blocks. Wham!!! Knocked on her back, screaming, tears. I carried her around the house and gave her lots of kisses trying to calm her down. All is good as the crying stops and we both give Ruffino “the look”. He knows he messed up. I sit her down to play with her blocks again and then I see it. The HUGE goose egg on the side of her forehead. Freakout!!! I was trying so hard to stay calm as I ran for the phone trying to remember her doctor’s name so I could find it in the contacts list, nothing… WHAT IS HIS FREAKING NAME?!?!?!?!?! I finally find it and am recounting the incident to the nurse as I’m fighting back tears and thinking about what I need to get together for the trip to the emergency room (and, in the back of my mind, what will happen when the authorities come to haul me off). “She’s fine Shelley, this is just the first of many more to come.” What? No emergency room? I need to calm down you say? Ugh, I don’t even want to know what will happen the first time she falls off her bike. That is the bike that has permanent training wheels, flashing lights, and the tall orange flag on it that I was embarrassed be seen with as a child.

Ha I love this only because I can picture you freaking out on the phone to the doctor. I love you and I'm glad Izzy has you to take care of her.
