Taking pictures of this moving rocket is becoming more and more difficult!  Next month you’re probably going to get a blur of a baby, and the month after that maybe the tips of his toes as he’s rollin out.

He is on fire, you guys!  I don’t know if it’s a boy thing, but he will NOT stay still.  Like for anything.  Diaper changes have become nightmares.  I liken it to the “death roll” alligators due.  Any object/toy I give him to try and capture his attention with is quickly launched into the pit behind the diaper pail.  When this is going on No. 1’s are just annoying.  No. 2’s?  I want to rock myself in a corner.  Good times.

He hasn’t attached to a lovie yet, but when he sucks his thumb he has a cute little habit.  If he’s wearing a long sleeve shirt he will wrap it around his thumb before sucking on it.  If he’s in a short sleeve shirt, he’ll pull the front of his shirt up and suck on it with his thumb.  Don’t know what it is about it, but he looks so sweet doing it 🙂

Still no teeth!  I swear all four are going to come in at the same time.  I could water the yard with the amount of drool this kid is putting out.  Not only is Sam dealing with the teething pain, but he still has that ear infection!!!  Arrrrggghhh!!!  We meet with an ENT this week and we’re going to have tubes put in next week.  I’m happy to be able to resolve the problem and get his hearing back on track.  NOT happy about my baby being put under for the procedure.  I know he’s going to be ok, and I know they do this all the time, but I’m still stressing over it.  Guess it’s just a mommy thing.

Have you guys dealt with ear tubes before?  What should I expect?  Anything you can tell me about it I’d so appreciate it!

My son was 9 or 10 months old when he got tubes. It was so quick and easy, it was ridiculous. The procedure took like 10 minutes. He was mad and crying when he woke up from the anesthesia, which we were prepared for, but after we gave him a bottle, he was 100% back to normal. As soon as we got home, he was playing, smiling, like it was a normal day. His tubes came out at around 2 years old, but he has never had an ear infection since the procedure (he is almost 4). So worth it!

But…..could he be any cuter?!?! Good lord, he's a cutie. And the thumb sucking thing? Adorable. I just want to squeeze him. 🙂

I had tubes put in my ears when I was about 6 years old (I'm 53 now). Even then it was an outpatient procedure and wasn't difficult. I was too young to know what it was really all about, but I had such severe allergies and sinus backup that I had ear infections all the time – and they are painful! After the tubes, no more ear problems (and apparently they fell out on their own sometime – I never felt it or knew it). It may be stressful for you, but your little-one is so young, he'll never remember.
