I’ve been loving shiplap walls in bathrooms for a while now. I didn’t realize just how much until I went through my Pinterest bathroom board a few days back and found the darn things all over the place. And then after seeing Cassie’s insane bathroom remodel I decided it’s time. Isn’t is amazing?!

I want to put it up in both the kids’ bathrooms. My mom is coming to visit soon and I’m going to put her to work on it with me. “Hey mom! It’s so nice to have you here, I missed you so much!!! Now go get changed. We’ve got a project to tackle.”
Here’s more shiplap loveliness. Think of it as my Valentine’s gift to you 😉
You can toss those planks floor to ceiling and all around.

Or dip a toe in and do one accent wall.

Vertical is nice too.

We’re used to seeing them white, but what about a color? I love this deep gray.

I absolutely love covering all walls 3/4th of the way up with the shiplap and adding fun wallpaper. That’s going to be my plan for the kids’ bathrooms. I just have no clue what wallpaper I would choose yet.

What do you think? Is this something you like, or are you already over it?

NewestYEEEEES! i love the one with the fun swan paper!
I adore this look!! I just completed the walls in my guest bath with the shiplap look!!! Joanna Gaines farmhouse inspired me. Go for it!! Love the wallpaper up top too.
It's gorgeous! Now I think I need some in my house..
I'm obsessed too. We just installed our planked kitchen backsplash this weekend and I'm painting today. I told my husband yesterday that we need to use the leftovers in our bathroom!
Mindy, did you put it in your bathroom? What did you coat it with?
What do you coat the shiplap with if put in the bathroom?
Hi Penny! You can read my post about the DIY shiplap I ended up doing in my son's bathroom here: http://westermanfam.blogspot.com/2015/06/shiplap-boys-bathroom-reveal.html
I didn't do anything special to coat the wood. Just primer and an interior satin paint. Hope this helps!
Where do I purchase the shiplap?
When I Google different materials popped up. I purchased wide panel mdf prime boards that come in 1/4" thickness. My contractor is nervous bc it's going in a bathroom and may get wet. I said we caulk, prime and paint for reassurance. Am I doing the right thing?
I used a plywood (more details here: http://westermanfam.blogspot.com/2015/06/shiplap-boys-bathroom-reveal) The MDF doesn't do well in wet or moist environments (think of it as glued sawdust, as soon as water hits it will swell and soften over time) which is probably why your contractor is nervous about it. You're right, there are a lot of products out there: real shiplap with tongue and groove for fitting together; wood planks; plywood. I'm sure there are other options as well! Personally, I would steer clear of MDF.
