Last week I shared with you Sam’s bathroom makeover, and today it’s Izzy’s turn!
Before we get into it, I want to show you a before pic. Izzy’s bath had the same thing going on as Sam’s did. It was new, it was clean, but it was builder’s boring.
I basically did the exact same thing in her bath as I did in his. Shiplap up 2/3rds of the walls, kept the same wall color, framed out the existing builder’s grade mirror, replaced the standard towel bar with a hook, and added knobs to the vanity.
Izzy’s favorite part of her bathroom is the art, especially the adorable bunny print above the toilet. When I found this “you make my heart smile” print I had to have it. It’s something I’ve said to Izzy’s almost every day of her life.
The shower curtain was a DIY I’m excited to share with you later this week. It’s my favorite part of her bath. I took Izzy with me looking for shower curtain options and we both ended up pulling this print out at the same time. Miss Opinionated and I rarely see eye to eye lately so this was a definite sign. It’s such an awesome print!

Newestshelley, i love love love it! that shower curtain and the bunny art!!!!
One of my favorite transformations to date!! It made my jaw drop….seriously I'm catching flies here. I Pinned it, it's such a cool space. That shiplap, that shower curtain fabric….BUNNY! Love how it all came together.
Love, love.
Do you have a tutorial on the shiplap that you followed? Also, looks like the stain on your mirror is a weathered gray..can you share the stain!! Thanks! Looks awesome!
Hi Katie! I used the same method for applying the shiplap that I did in our son's bathroom. You can check out the post here: http://westermanfam.blogspot.com/2015/06/shiplap-boys-bathroom-reveal.html I included some tips in that post on how I put it up that should help! As far as her mirror goes, I used Minwax's Classic Gray stain 🙂
Love this transformation! Can you please share how you hung the mirror and picture frame after the shiplap and border was installed? Thank you!
Thank you so much Veronica! The frame was hung on an extra long nail placed into the wall above the shiplap trim. The mirror had two different types of support. First, we screwed D-rings into the back of the mirror and hung them from extra long heavy duty screws placed into studs. Secondly, for extra support since this particular mirror was extra wide and heavy, we screwed a 1×2 into the back of the mirror that would lay on top of the shiplap's 1×2 to help hold the weight of the mirror.
Can you share what the tile you used is?
It's made by Emser: St. Moritz – 12×24 in Silver. It's a porcelain tile.
