March has just flown into place so quickly I can hardly believe it. My daughter gets so excited this time of the year since bunny rabbits are her favorite animals and all of the stores are busting with Easter decor. This year’s Simple Modern Spring Tablescape was put together with her love of bunnies in mind.
A full source list is included at the end of the post.

Instead of pulling out our wedding china, I kept things more casual and used our everyday white dishes. My formula for setting a table is always the same whether it’s formal or casual. Floral centerpiece and lots of candles. To make it different each time I add a little seasonal touch, use different linens, or change out the color of the candles. Simple is always the name of the game though.

DIY Bunny Napkin Rings

After all these years I still don’t have napkin rings. I’ve used a mixture of gold bangle bracelets for my past Christmas tables, and while those would have still looked beautiful at this table, I wanted a nod to Easter and Spring. These DIY bunny ear napkin rings were simple to pull together by bending some wire into a ring and then adding ears to the top.

Table Linens

Keeping with the casual feel, I opted for a table runner instead of a tablecloth. This one is actually cut from a small tablecloth I found at Target. I loved the striped pattern so much, but unfortunately it wasn’t available in a runner size. The price was right at $16 so I bought it anyway and turned it into a runner.
TIP: Only have four matching napkins? Mix in another pattern and add those to the head chairs’ place settings. My head chair napkins are actually left over fabric from when I made the table runner.

Easter Carrot Cake

You can’t have Easter dinner without carrot cake! The bunny ear theme continued to the cake and I couldn’t be any more in love. More wire was bent into shape to create this topper. Quick and easy, but super cute.

Flowers

Flowers always make a table feel special. I don’t think they need to be too fussy though. When I need flowers for a table I just pick them up from the grocery store. I like to mix and match mine.
TIP: When I got home I realized I didn’t have enough to fill my vase, so I added a couple of faux flowers. The faux ones are the largest peony and the darker small one. Mixed in with all the real ones you can’t tell!
