Summer is in full swing and you’re spending a lot more time outside.  Whether your walking up to your front porch, hanging out in the backyard, or prepping for a summer get-together, I’ve got six of my past DIY projects that are perfect to tackle this summer.

1.  Planter Makeover

Give your outdated planter or thrift store find a makeover with chalk paint.  This large planter started out as a deep red that didn’t match our patio decor at all, and the small one was a plain terra-cotta find at the home improvement store.

2.  DIY Painted Doormat

You don’t need a special paper or vinyl cutting machine to make this customizable door mat!  It’s still going strong and makes me smile every time I walk up to the door.

3.  DIY Patio Curtains + Rope Tiebacks

Outdoor drapes can be expensive.  You can save money by making your own out of any outdoor fabric.  Added bonus is that you can make them the perfect length for you.  And, why not make some fun tiebacks for them as well!

4.  DIY Outdoor Coffee Table with Storage

This DIY coffee table was so much easier to build than I expected.  The top flips up to store outdoor cushions (from a previous patio set) so our dog can’t get them.  Love furniture with dual purpose!

5.  DIY Rope Mirror

Make a simple mirror a little more special by turning it into a hanging rope mirror.  This mirror actually started out a different color in the beginning.

6.  Summer Door Hanging

While I technically put this door hanging together for the 4th of July, I think it will be staying up all summer long.  Flag aren’t your thing?  Swap them out for some pretty faux flowers!
