I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, “every room needs something vintage”. Vintage brings soul and character to a space. Without it things can feel too new and shiny. Vintage rugs are everywhere right now and there’s a reason for it. They’re perfectly imperfect, wear like a champ, but can be EXPENSIVE. I was snapping a photo of our kitchen’s breakfast room for Instagram and swapped out the blah rug by our back door for the small vintage rug from the laundry room. That little change made such a difference! Small vintage rugs give a space a big punch of character without the sticker shock.
Where to Use Small Vintage Rugs
These small vintage rugs can go just about anywhere. Entry doors, by bathroom vanity, beside the tub, powder rooms, laundry rooms, under the kitchen sink, etc. They even look great layered over a slightly larger neutral, natural fiber rug like jute if you need to fill a larger space.

Size + Price
I’ve rounded up some small vintage rugs for you below that are in that sweet spot for size and price. These are around 1.5’x3′ in size and most are under $100 with free shipping and others being just over. The great thing about vintage rugs are that they’re made to last. They’ve been around a long time and will last you a long time.

please share where I can our base the drapes you show in your dining room. Thank you.
You can definitely find these rugs in red, I just picked out the ones that spoke to me. Click on any of the rugs I linked to and you can go to that rug seller’s shop where you can find rugs in all different colors. The drapes in my dining room are a DIY. You can find more information about how I did it by typing “dining room drapes” in the search bar.
