A few months ago I received an email about reviewing a rug from Sukhi.  After hearing the incredible story behind their handmade felt ball rugs, I was beyond excited to see these rugs up close and in person.  Recently, this beauty arrived at my doorstep.
MY RUG:
I chose the Deevyah Rectangle Rug (note: while the rug on their site shows the rug with a diagonal stripe pattern, mine arrived without the stripe pattern).
As soon as I unrolled it, the kids were on it like cats basking in the sun.  I couldn’t get them off of it!  Sam has been using it to drive his cars over the “rocks”.  I even lost it for a few minutes before finding out that Izzy had taken it upstairs to her room.  Sneaky.  It’s so incredibly cushy underfoot, and the little felt balls feel amazing on your bare feet.  Izzy is begging me for a second rug of her own.
It’s currently living in our laundry room, and I’m not sure why I didn’t have a rug in there before.  It makes so much sense to have something soft underfoot when standing for several minutes folding laundry.  My brother-in-law walked through there the other day and came out raving over how good it felt.  You know a rug is good when a man fawns over it 😀

They have a bunch of other color ways available and also a customizable option that I’m kicking myself for not noticing until now!  With their custom option you can choose from 69 colors and 9 different patterns.  The versions are limitless!  Here are just a few that I’m loving:

ABOUT SUKHI FELT BALL RUGS:
In Nepali, Sukhi means happy.  Each of their felt ball rugs are handmade by Nepalese women out of 100% new and pure wool directly from New Zealand.  These rugs come directly from the artisans with no middleman.  This allows the artisans to be paid 2-3 times the average salary in the region.  They are able to proudly work out of the comfort of their own home and can afford to send their children to school.
Here is something else I absolutely loved.  Once my rug shipped I received an email that included the photo of the artisan who made it.  This is Maya Rai.

I was even able to send her a person note thanking her.  You can meet more of Sukhi’s team in Nepal by clicking here.
I also encourage you to watch this video about the beautiful woman behind these rugs.
Disclosure: I received this rug in exchange for my review.  All options are completely my own.  For more information, click here.

Thank YOU so much for the opportunity to experience your gorgeous rugs for myself and to spread the Sukhi story. And yes, it is still being used as a "bumpy road" for his cars 😀
