Before Halloween got away from us, I wanted to share this year’s Fall and Halloween decor with you. It usually takes me a while to lean into this time of the year with decorations since we’re still sweating and swimming down here in Houston. But once I do make the switch inside, it gets me excited for the cooler temperatures to come and the holidays. So here’s how things are looking like around our house lately, with some Halloween tossed in here and there. It will be a bit of a mash up, so bare with me.

Front Porch

I’ll be honest with you. I have been so busy lately that I forgot to decorate the front porch. Am I even a blogger? What blogger forgets to decorate their porch for Fall?? This one. This one does. I pulled decor and pumpkins from the back patio up to the front so the trick-or-treaters would have a little something. You’ll see this DIY wreath again in a bit when I share the back patio. It’s simply a piece of garland attached to a wire wreath form. Super easy and a much more affordable way to get a larger wreath.

Entry

The inside of our entry isn’t decorated for a specific season, but I recently made a change in here so I thought I would include it. Swapping rugs is a quick way to freshen up a space no matter the season. This one is a washable rug from Ruggable, the Vintage Daisy in Hazel. Mine is a 5×7. It looks like a hand knotted rug, but can be tossed in the washing machine. I just think that’s so cool.

You can never go wrong with just changing out your florals or greenery when transitioning your home to different seasons. That’s the quickest and most impactful change you can make. This burgundy dried eucalyptus is even prettier in person. Toss in a candle and you’re done.

For Halloween I brought out my fake crows. They’re always a hit with the kids and our bird dog. We picked up this sugar skull a few years ago in Mexico City and it’s a perfect addition. I turned a regular coffee table book into a Halloween book by adding two print out pieces of art to the center of an opened book. You can get a better look at it in this Instagram post.

Living Room

It has been a while since I’ve shared our living room on the blog. I added in some different pillows and swapped out a couple pieces of art since you’ve last seen it on here. You’ll get a better view of the art when I share the Halloween photo. Things are feeling much cozier in here with the darker prints and warmer toned pillows. Oh! I almost forgot to tell you about this free hack for art for your TV, and you don’t have to have a Frame TV. Search for vintagearttv on YouTube. There’s a channel there that has all types of art that plays through a cycle. You can also find seasonal art like this Fall one I have on in the photo below.

Oh, and another change I’ve made in here is the lamp on the side table. The chunkier size is just what this corner needed, and I’m so in love with the tapered shade.

This year for Halloween I swapped out my paper bats I’ve had for 10 years for butterflies. I’m completely in love. And I knew I had a winner when my husband commented on how much he liked them. Add in extra dimension by mixing in some wired faux moths.

Another example of swapping out greens for dried grasses. Quick and easy. I also switch the white taper candles out for these beeswax tapers. The warmer tone is great for this time of the year.

Back Patio

We finally have outdoor furniture on our back patio! Just in time for cooler weather, and we’re already spending a lot of time out there. I’ll share lots more and do a separate post when the remaining pieces arrive. If you’re quick, you can catch a tour of the patio and the new pieces in my Instagram stories right now!
