Woohoo… It’s Halloween!

October 11, 2010

I love me some Halloween! I think it’s because it’s fall and I’m no longer sweating all of the time, and because it’s the beginning of my other two favorite holidays (Thanksgiving because of the food of course, and then my fav of all, Christmas!). When I was little I always looked forward to getting the decorations out and putting them up with my mom. Thinking about it now I can almost smell it. I know it sounds weird, but to me holiday decorations have a smell associated with them. With Halloween it’s the cool, crisp air that fall brings, and with Christmas it’s almost like cinnamon. Anyways, when Izzy looks back I want her to have those same fond memories of putting up decorations with me. So, I scrounged the house until I came up with some things to go with my Michael’s finds (the crows & pumpkins). I had a bunch off old books my mom had given me, a LOAD of moss left over from last year, and bunch of silver pieces. I kind of like how it turned out, sort of haunted house-ish. I know she’s probably still too young to enjoy it, but I like to get a head start on creating little memories 🙂 Oh, and when I get done with it I’ll show you the costume I’m making for her. So excited!
