QUICK LITTLE TIP! – If you have an issue with the lid not screwing back onto the jar (I didn’t run into this problem with the first one I made, but did with the second so I thought I’d share) you can pull the fabric back, peel the dried glue off the cardboard, and apply a couple beads of glue to the top side of the cardboard and press the fabric to it before starting at Step 4. That way there is a little lip around the edge of the top for the lid ring to fit over more easily.
STEP SEVEN: Apply hot glue to the top of the lid.
STEP EIGHT: Firmly press the lid onto the bottom of the cardboard.
STEP NINE: Slip lid ring over. You may have to tug on the fabric and batting a bit to get it to sit correctly.
STEP NINE: Stuff your mason jar with any notions you might find yourself repeatedly traveling the house with, screw the lid on, add some pins, and enjoy!

NewestThat is so smart (and cute)! I should definitely do this. Apparently, my husband isn't fond of finding pins on the floor.
awesome idea for that magnet (and kit is uber cute too!)
I love these! I have so many mason jars left over from canning so I will definitely be making these. And the magnetic strip on the underside of the lid is genius! I would love for you to share this at my link party!

tried it, worked perfectly. the addition of the cardboard layer helped my jar lids actually close. the last tutorial i tried was a fail because the fabric made it too tight. nice job!

This is such a great project! I love it's simplicity. In fact, it's downright cinchy … and would be perfect at our "It's a Cinch" multi-blog link party. The link stays open until midnight Friday and when you link at one blog, you're automatically linked up to the party's five co-hosts …

what a great diy – thank you!
I will definitely be making these to, Send gifts to Pakistan from UK.
I made these and did not use the cardboard because if you use both jar lid and cardboard the lid won't screw on. It makes it to thick to thread on. 🙂 I just used jar lid
