picture frame molding progress

July 30, 2012

Well folks, the weekend came and went and I’m still not done with the molding in the dining room.
Saturday was suppose to have been spent with a quick trip to the hardware store and then home to get cutting and installing.  Sunday was going to be finish work and painting.  Didn’t happen.  We went to FOUR different stores on Saturday (in well above 100 degree temps) before finding enough molding.  Ugh!!!
So Sunday ended up the cut and put up day.  I’m wiped out peeps.  Here’s where we stand.
I thought I could get away with using just Liquid Nails.  No bueno.  Today I’m going to have to bust out the nail gun and hit a few spots that popped up.  And, you’ll notice there’s a large space between the chair railing and the top of the new molding?  I decided I want to add an additional piece of trim just below the chair rail.  Need to go on another trim hunt for that – yippee.
So, new goal.  I’m going to be generous and give myself until the end of the week to get this done.  Hopefully, I’ll surprise myself and get done sooner 🙂
Why oh why do project plans NEVER go as planned?!?!

No kidding! I've had a week like that too – client curtains not hanging exactly how I needed them to; needing to problem solve it. Never fails that with most projects, there is some sort of hang up. It's going to look so good, though!!

Oh, I feel for you! I would take at least six months to finish such a big project, so your pace is lightning fast to me! 🙂 Good luck!
