I’m a girl that loves Halloween. You could probably tell from my last post where I shared our outdoor Halloween decorations. But, I don’t need every single corner of my house screaming with decorations. My thoughts about decorating for the holidays is that a little goes a long way. I’ve focused on our entry by the stairs, living room, and a couple of small touches in the kitchen. Keep reading to see my simple Halloween decor ideas that you can still bring to life in your house before the big night.

Halloween Entry Decor

Halloween entry table decor ideas

You know how you get something in your head and then it’s hard to get it out? That’s how I felt about wanting a good looking skull this year. It needed to be realistic, pretty, and affordable. Found it!! The rest of the table easily came together after that.

My favorite vintage items to use for Halloween decor are books and candlesticks. They just always work! I also brought in some butterflies to tie this decor in with the living room decor that I’ll share next.

Halloween Living Room Decor

Last year I switched from paper bats to these paper butterflies and I loved them so much I had to do it again. They’re simple but very impactful.

Paper Butterfly Tip:

The trick to pulling this look (or even the bats) is to place them randomly, just like it would happen in nature. Often times you’ll see people place them evenly apart and all facing the exact same direction. I think it’s much more interesting and realistic to cluster some together, have some going away from the general path or flow (in this case the path is out of the fireplace and up towards the right), and facing different directions.

And while these next shots aren’t Halloween, I wanted to share some new pillows I added for Fall and Winter. Cannot get enough of the rust tones right now. The key is to mix different tones and patterns to keep neutrals from falling flat. I’ll share links to all of my pillows and throws at the end for you.

Halloween Decor for Your TV

Did you notice the TV has revolving Halloween art? Scroll back and check them out. We don’t have the fancy frame TV, but I have a fun and free workaround. Go to YouTube and search “halloween art for TV” and you’ll see a bunch of options. My favorite channels are Vintage Art TV and Aesthetically Ambient. It will rotate different art styles or seasonal art over an hour.

Halloween Kitchen Decor

I have diffusers running year round, but the Fall and Winter blends are probably my favorites. This year I Halloweenified (yep, just go with it) my diffusers in our kitchen. My smaller diffuser is a perfect size to use in lanterns. I picked up this metal pumpkin lantern after kicking myself for not buying it last year. I drilled a small hole in the back so I can feed my diffuser cord through the back. The pumpkin is right at home all Fall long.

Hands down my favorite diffuser is this Aria. The best deal for purchasing this diffuser is getting it in this starter kit that comes with 12 oils. It’s HUGE and fills our entire open living space with scent for 12 hours. This year I added some cute bat decals. This diffuser also has colored lights that I turn on in the evening. I like the warm white/yellow with the bats because it looks like the moon. So cute! You can see a video with the lights on on my other Instagram page @crazywonderfulclean

Diffuser Details

The prettiest and largest diffuser I have come across. It’s sold as a kit that comes with the diffuser, 12 essential oils for diffusing (using in DIY cleaning products, wellness, DIY beauty products, etc.). Separately it retails over $700 so it’s a heck of a deal! I actually became a brand partner for this company after I got my hands on it because I liked it so much. Let me know if you pick one up by leaving a comment or sending me a DM on Instagram because I have some FREE GIFTS I’ll send your way separately including a second diffuser (a perfect size for putting in fun lanterns like I did with the metal pumpkin).
